Another Greatest Generation?
A Call To Action ~ It’s Now Or Never

The issues of our day. Every generation has had them. The “Greatest Generation”, as Tom Brokaw labeled them, saved the world from Hitler and Tojo in World War II. They saved the world for Liberty. We owe them. And like the moral crisis we face in America today, they did not choose the time and nature of their battle, but they rose to the occasion nevertheless.
 
Who will take their place?
 
Lincoln’s generation saved America from the impending dissolution of the union and brave Union soldiers saved America from herself regarding the evil of slavery. It took persistence and it took blood. It took immense moral courage to fight that fight.
 

Who will follow in their footsteps?

 

The brave men of 1776 and thereabouts saved an infant America. That took great courage because had they failed, and they almost did a number of times, most of them would have probably been killed by the Crown for sedition. Who will now risk all for God and country? 
 

Are you among the courageous?

Consider the heroes of The Battle of the Bulge and D-Day -- who will follow their example and put it all on the line for America? Will you? When I consider these examples, I must admit that their courage seems to surpass mine.  God help me to be brave. Lord, help me to have courage like that of the Doolittle raiders, who flew into harm’s way with virtually no way back. Let me advance and not retreat, as the brave men of D-Day did. Are we now seeing the maturing of another desperately needed “greatest generation”?

Where are America’s new heroes?

Although they were not given the proper credit at the time, the soldiers who fought in Vietnam halted the spread of communism and sent a message to our enemies “Don’t tread on me!” God bless them! They were not killing babies, they were saving them -- the babies of future generations as yet unborn. And yet we now have Roe v Wade killing them; not in the name of God or country, but in the name of pleasure and carelessness. “Pro-choice” we call it. God, have mercy upon us.

America has solved some of the most daunting physics and moral based challenges in our past. Consider just a few of them:

  • The atomic bomb
  • The hydrogen bomb
  • The nuclear submarine
  • The Lunar Lander
  • The Space Shuttle
  • The MRI
  • The transistor
  • The light bulb
  • The motion picture
  • The personal computer
  • The cell phone
  • The X-15
  • The Saturn-V rocket
  • Radar
  • Antibiotics
  • Neuro-surgery
  • Ending Slavery
  • World Wars I & II
  • The end of the Cold War
  • Women’s rights

The Civil Rights movement

And yet somehow, we cannot seem to be able to adequately grasp and solve the issues of our day. These include, but are not limited to: ending abortion, restraining the perversion of homosexuality, stopping gay marriage and the naturally ensuing hate speech laws that can effectively silence the Church, out-of-control Judicial activism which is overturning the Constitution every other week, the out of control deficit, the war on terror, illegal immigration, the terrible plight of young inner-city black youth, and the legislating of “God” out of the Pledge and just about every other aspect of American life. There are other issues too and there’s nothing ‘gay’ about any of them. This is all the more disturbing because the United States Constitution is not a living document or its writers would have stated so. The Federal and Supreme courts should be beholding to the People, not to special interests. The Constitution gives your legislators the power to constrain the courts. So why haven’t they done so? Good question, no?  So ask them, really. Let your voice be heard.

Who me?

You may be asking yourself “Can I really make a difference? I’m just one person.” So were Martin Luther King, Ronald Reagan, and Abraham Lincoln. At one point in time Lincoln was a new lawyer, frequently depressed and unknown to just about everybody. Forgive me, but Reagan was a has-been b-grade actor, and yet he changed the face of America and of the world. King was an adulterer and Winston Churchill drank too much, yet just look at all they accomplished for the good of their countries. Dietrich Bonhoeffer is unknown to most people but his legacy lives on in the hearts of Christian heroes. Consider the relatively unknown Chinese Brother Yun, who repeatedly endured torture for the Word of the Lord and to protect his fellow Christians who were being hunted all over China. And what about Pat Tillman? He had everything; wealth, fame and fortune, and still he gave it all up to sacrifice his life for his country. In the end, displayed the truest form of selfless courage -- he put his life where his heart lay. He gave his life for America, right or wrong.  May God bless him.  President Richard Nixon was a great yet terribly flawed man. His example should still inspire us, for although flawed, he put himself out there for the good of America. He made a mistake and he paid the price. But his heart was for America. Teddy Roosevelt was a weak and sickly asthmatic young boy, but he dismissed and overcame his weaknesses and helped catapult America onto the world stage. George Washington risked death time and time again for a fledgling nation and for the notion that man was created in God’s image and was therefore entitled to life, liberty and freedom. These men were not perfect but they were willing and committed. God will not overlook our flaws, but He expects us nevertheless to insert ourselves into the front line fight. Will evil or righteousness rule at the end of the day?  Will we confront evil or run from it?  Imperfect men can achieve great results if they are willing to confront evil despite their manifest imperfections. True courage is not courage if nothing is at risk. So, will you run or stand your ground?  Will you retreat or advance despite the danger?   

 

The season now thrust upon us requires either courage or cowardess. There is no other option. We either act now while it doesn’t yet take the threat of great loss to speak out, or we’ll be later faced with much tougher choices later on. Sometimes I wish there were more options, but there are not. I maintain that courage is defined by what cowardess is not, and it is therefore important to know what cowardess is. Cowardess implies a moral void -- possessing no absolute standard. Therefore the coward is selfish; desiring only that what may satisfy him in his pursuit of immediate personal satisfactions, whatever that may entail in his mind. The coward nullifies his nagging inclination to honor truth, and only seeks to fulfill his own gratification no matter what the consequences for others. He refuses to stand up for anything. I’ve heard it said that ‘If you don’t stand up for something, you’ll fall for anything.’ Fear is the coward's ally. Fear tells the coward when to run and when to hide, while masquerading as the coward’s disguised and anesthetizing method for survival. Courage is simply the opposite. Cowardess is the choice to be intentionally uninvolved, and to be unwilling to stand up and say “This is wrong”. Courage is occasionally unrewarded, but it is most appropriate to the daunting moral crisis now thrust upon us. Had the men of 1776 failed us, we would not even be discussing this today. Such is the present situation that we find ourselves in. 

 

Courage is not as distant from fear as one might think, for as Eddie Rickenbacker said that There can be no courage unless you’re scared.” At times I get scared too, but I refuse to give in to it and capitulate. Too much is at stake. Will you turn tail and run or will you join me in confronting evil?

 

Gary Bauer reminded me that “History teaches us that evil can only be stopped by men good enough and strong enough to stand in their way at great cost.” Indeed! I have recently suffered my own casualty in this war for America and knowing the enemy as I do, I expect more. As some of you know, I am also a law enforcement officer and I have been suspended for 15 days without pay by my department because of my conservative viewpoints. That’s the bottom line. Nevertheless, I will not be silenced. I will not stand in front of God at the final Judgment and be accused of doing nothing. I have many faults, but cowardess and inaction are not among them. Better to act and later wish I’d have acted differently than to not act at all and see America go to the dogs.

 

And just who let the dogs out? The ACLU and other ultra-Liberal activists, and at times even the Supreme Court. Possibly the legislators in your state did so too, and certainly many citizens are complicit by virtue of their inaction. Prior to first meeting Alan Keyes nearly two years ago, I too was among the uninformed, so if you haven’t’ acted yet, I understand, but now is as good a time as any to jump into the fight. In fact, it’s the best time!

 

Consider how one lone individual has been able to get “Under God” thrown out of the Pledge of Allegiance. If you ever doubted what one single, energized and committed grassroots person can do, you need to look no farther than the apparent God-hater Peter Newdow.  Had enough? You can do something about it.

 


 

Why are we in this mess? 

 

Because of the death of right and wrong.  God says that “Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a disgrace to any people.” We can’t continue to abort millions of babies, engage in the abomination of homosexuality, toss God’s commands aside and still expect Him to bless our nation. However, remember when Abraham pleaded with God to not destroy Sodom if only a minority of ten righteous people could be found there? God agreed, but part of the problem was that there weren’t ten righteous people living in Sodom at the time!  Certainly there are more than ten righteous people pleading with God to renew our nation, and so we have Biblical precedence for intervening on behalf of our country.

 

As we make God illegal, we outlaw the very thing that can help us!  It may have once looked like help, preaching a nonexistent wall of separation between church and state, but with God increasingly becoming more and more illegal, our moral compass is being pushed farther and farther away from those lost in the wilderness of moral decay who desperately need to know where true moral North is. Our government is helping us out of the very thing that can help us -- God!

 

With God’s help, we can fix this. He promises us that. In II Chronicles 7:14, God pleads with us:

 

If My people, who are called by My name, will humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.”

 

How then can we loose?

 

In the 1960’s, “Power to the People” was the cultural front-line. It was iconic. Since then, just what has happened to the “power of the people”?  Our power lies in our votes, and also in making our voices known to our representatives by writing letters and making phone calls. And if a company promotes homosexuality like Ford does, we can buy another brand. But in the end, like an unused weapon, the power of the People has to be:

 

   1) Properly considered for use

   2) Activated

   3) Carefully aimed

   4) Unleashed!

 

What we need now is activism. We need new heroes. We need you.

 


 

Where have we heard all this before?

 

Whether you believed in the Vietnam War or not, just look at the effect that public grassroots activism had. The Supreme Court seems to want to take the will of the People way from us, knowing that they cannot get the Liberal agenda passed by Constitutional referendum, but We the People have the moral and Constitutional authority to act. In fact, I maintain that we have a mandate to reclaim America for its original Christian heritage. We are not acting as extremists because this nation was built on Christian principles. Some may ask “How is all this so? Show me!”  Okay, just look at how we’re bending over backwards to help the illegal immigrant. We feel their plight and our Christian-based consciences are pricking our hearts to help them. Any other nation would have locked them up and sent them back, maybe even killing them, yet our government is going through hoops to help them.  Most of us really do want to care for our neighbor. Where have we heard that before? Just what religion asks us to care for our neighbor?? See what I mean?

 

Although conceived with good intentions, the “Silent Majority” is one of the worst terms I’ve ever heard. God says we’re to “admonish the unruly” and “redeem the time.” Are we doing that? We’re to confront and restrain evil. Are we effectively doing that? When good no longer has the urge to confront evil, the salt has lost its saltiness. Then what good are we?

 

The mid and late 1960’s saw the rise of the civil rights movement, which was long overdue. That movement has changed into a bizarre battle, not representing “civil rights” at all, but uncivil rights: the right of a baby to be prematurely aborted and murdered through no fault of its own. And the most unnatural form of human behavior, homosexuality, is actually being considered for legalization for the first time in history. Even an animal is smart enough to not defecate in its own bed, but polluting our culture and ignoring the many perils, we continue in this regard full steam ahead. No other time in man’s history have people been so mad, so foolish, as to consider such things. Why now? One reason is because the homosexual lobby has managed to convince many Americans that theirs is a struggle for “civil rights”, that they are an oppressed minority seeking all sorts of special protections and extraordinary hate speech laws. Nonsense, it is a fallacy! It’s a lie and most people know it, amen?

 

JFK urged us to “Ask not what your country can do for you;

ask what you can do for your country.”

 

Indeed. The selfish nature of things like homosexuality and abortion ignores this time tested maxim. All for one and one for all has degraded into all for none and none for all -- Me, Myself and I now rule the day.

 

We need to strive for great things and we need to put an end to minority rule. The arrogant nature of the Supreme Court over the last few decades is beyond anything we're seen before in America. Former Chief Justice Warren Burger purportedly and incredulously said:

 

            "We're the Supreme Court, we can do whatever the hell we want."

 

Former Supreme Court Chief Justice Charles Evans Hughes said:

 

            "The Constitution is whatever the judges say it is."


And former Chief Justice Fred Vinson disturbingly said that:

 

            "Nothing is more certain in modern society than the principle that there are no absolutes."

 

Oh really? And just who is this Supreme Court that thinks they can overrule the wishes of We the People? Who gave them that power? Certainly not the Constitution! Article 3, section 2 of the United States Constitution (our roadmap) says “[T]he Supreme Court shall have appellate jurisdiction, both as to law and fact, with such exceptions, and under such regulations as the Congress shall make.” Congress is elected by you, so hold them accountable! They have the legal authority to reign in an out-of-control Supreme Court. Are you falling in line with this rampant and wicked political correctness, or will you, like me, mobilize to take back America before it becomes illegal to do so? What say ye?

 

JFK also said:

 

We choose to go to the moon. We choose to go to the moon in this decade and do the other things, not because they are easy, but because they are hard, because that goal will serve to organize and measure the best of our energies and skills, because that challenge is one that we are willing to accept, one we are unwilling to postpone, and one which we intend to win, and the others, too.  It is for these reasons that I regard the decision last year to shift our efforts in space from low to high gear as among the most important decisions that will be made during my incumbency in the office of the Presidency.”

 

It will be a hard battle, no doubt about it, but it will become harder the longer we delay. Challenge the Liberals! Christian moral conservatives have better arguments, far better in fact. We intend to win. Come fight alongside of us! Shift into high gear – the fight requires it. 

 

It is winnable!

 

Christians and conservatives find themselves living in a culture overrun by forces that have forty years of momentum on their side, led by a generation of legal and legislative authorities who do not recognize God or His precepts. They ignore the Supreme Architect at their peril. However, I am convinced that the forces of good can prevail over the forces that want to reshape America into a Godless socialist state where moral relativism is worshipped. What will it take to win this war? Prayer and your action, undertaken both legally and peacefully. Prayer to ask God to restore America to her original design, and sustained action on your part to put pressure on legislators and other influential leaders and policy makers, even Hollyweird. Let them know that you will not pay to see movies like Brokeback Mountain, and that you do not want to see a gay character in nearly every movie, etc. The majority, not the one percent minority, should define our culture. Let your legislators know that if they continue to support the Liberal agenda that affirms things like homosexuality and abortion, to name but a few, that they will be voted out of office.

 

How long will the battle take?

 

Don’t know. No one does. It may never entirely end because the Bible says that persecution is coming, but it does not say exactly when. We can only interpret the signs and act as we see the light. After seeing the light, we are accountable to God for our actions or inactions. Even if we can’t delay persecution, we still must act according to God’s ordinances, and there are many such principles laid out before us in the Bible. Among them, we are to “admonish the unruly” and confront evil whenever and wherever we see it. Our goal is to push back the tide of moral relativism and take back the ground lost since the Supreme Court banned prayer in public schools in 1963. Given your activism, we can win, but if in God’s sovereignty He rules otherwise, I at least want to go down fighting. I want to stand before my God and family and say “I stood up for right.”

 

How about you?

 

No longer is the once seeming conundrum of right vs. wrong a complicated issue. Now having arrived at the precipice, it is all too clear: we either go forward into the abyss and forever overturn thousands of years of morality, or we turn around, charge the enemy and fight. There are no longer any other options for any of us.

 

Esther 4:14 says “For if you remain silent at this time, relief and deliverance for the Jews will arise from another place, but you and your father's family will perish. And who knows but that you have come to royal position for such a time as this?"  Powerful words! They are as applicable now as they were then. He who has ears to hear, let him listen and most importantly, to act.

 

We must act -- and now. If you, like me, are saying “ENOUGH!” then join us in this battle.  You can take God at His word -- that in Him there is no darkness at all and that in the end, we win.

 

I believe that we are beginning to see another “Greatest Generation”, as a multitude of individual citizens begin to reclaim their Constitutional mantel of We the People. You don’t have to be perfect to get into the fight, only willing.

Many of you signed up for the fight quite some time ago. Don’t give up now. I hope your passion for the fight is undiminished, but if it is, take heart. There are many more like me and we need you. As you may know, I am a relative newcomer and mobilizing a large volunteer effort is new to me, but this is part of my job, so to speak, to help coordinate this effort. We can do it if we remain united, committed and do not loose heart. Join me. Become part of the fight once again.

 

The plan is to go on a full offensive, peaceably and legally, in conjunction with my allies. Some of you might be good at writing letters, emails and making phone calls. Some of you will say “Hey, let’s organize a movement in my own town!” Go for it! If you need advice, contact me.

If we are informed, committed and unified, we can retake America back. Liberals and even some conservatives would have you think otherwise, but I believe we can do it. And as you read my articles or the articles of similarly motivated writers and as you feel motivated about the causes I’ve mentioned, take the actions I suggest and also -- act on your own. Activism is a simple thing to do if you feel strongly enough about the fight and are willing to get involved and stay involved until the day has been won.

 

I am working with other groups behind the scenes and some of them are doing similar things. I assume you are reading this article because you want to America to get back on track with its original plan, as a God-given beacon of light to the world and as a haven of liberty and free speech for its citizens. Get on board!

 

Winston Churchill said:

 

We shall not fail or falter; we shall not weaken or tire... give us the tools and we will finish the job” and “Too often the strong, silent man is silent only because he does not know what to say.”

 

I am committed to giving you the tools. I will continue to advise you with the information that you need to win back the soul of America. It is then up to you to not be silent. We will finish the job together. Some people call it a cultural war. Others call it a war to restore America back to its original Constitutional principles. It is all that, but whatever its name, if is indeed a war for the soul of America. It is a war for our future and we need every soldier we can get.
