correctness gone berserk

Am I a politically incorrect, intolerant and insensitive homophobe? By the Liberal's definition, apparently so. This article is a departure for me from my normal measured political rhetoric, but I wanted to address an underhanded tactic frequently used by Liberals, and one that has little defense against it. For better or worse, the pen is indeed mightier than the sword. If you're accused of being "homophobic," "intolerant," "insensitive," or "politically incorrect," you're well, politically incorrect — an outcast. Liberals usually have little or no evidence to use against conservatives, so they label them with one of these dreaded words in the media. The fact is that the weight of the evidence does not matter to Liberals and many Democrats — only the perseity of the charge. Liberals in the media know this.


I've been told that I frequently say what others think. Sometimes that's good, sometimes not so good. Nevertheless, let's examine a few of these buzzwords in light of some of today's issues, from a decidedly conservative viewpoint — mine.


TOLERANCE:

  • Am I tolerant? No, not when it comes to tolerating behaviors that are harmful to society. I am simply not tolerant of gross immorality, especially when legislators want to legalize it. How can we tolerate that?
  • Am I intolerant? Yes I am, especially when it comes to legalizing unnatural relationships such as gay marriage, which threatens to undermine the time worn institutions of traditional marriage and family.
  • I am not tolerant of the new moral relativism that says that all manner of behavior is acceptable so long as no one is physically hurt. What do we then do with the psychiatrists?
  • I am also not tolerant of legalized abortion, which is really just murder on demand. It has nothing at all to do with "women's rights." Nothing. It has everything to do with infant's rights.
  • I'm not tolerant of politicians who argue that there is a compelling legal need for live and partial-birth abortion. There is however, a compelling need for honest politicians.
  • I'm intolerant of 'doctors' who convince themselves that on-demand abortion fulfills the terms of their Hippocratic Oath which says "I will keep them from harm and injustice."
  • I am not tolerant of militant gays who demand all sorts of special protections that the average citizen doesn't get or need.
  • I'm not tolerant of treacherous legislators who do not carry out the wishes of We the People who elected them.
  • I am not tolerant when tolerance means that I'm asked to accept the many wrong and unconstitutional judgments by rogue federal judges who seek to rewrite the Constitution and destroy many of the hallowed institutions of America. The many are now being ruled by the few.
  • I'm not tolerant of unelected federal judges who want to throw out the Bible. Hey, didn't they take their oath upon that Bible? I thought that's what I saw — how about you? What does this contradiction say about their integrity?
  • I am not tolerant of Liberals who say the United States Constitution is a "living document." It's enshrined behind bullet-proof glass under the tightest security imaginable. It's perfect just the way it is, and Conservatives intend to keep it that way.
  • I am not very tolerant of short-sighted and loud-mouthed individuals who refuse to see the forest for the trees. For example, I'm not intellectually tolerant of those who want to invalidate the weighty contributions of Thomas Jefferson because he owned slaves (and wrongly so). We are partly a product of our times. Times were different then, but times were also changing for the good. If God publicized our flaws, no one among us would feel qualified to do good. We are human: we do good things and we make mistakes.
  • I am not tolerant of any public servant who considers himself "elite" — above the common man.
  • I am not tolerant of silly politicians who insist that illegal aliens have a right to free American health care!
  • I am not tolerant of stupid politicians who argue that illegal aliens should be issued legal drivers licenses!
  • I'm getting increasingly intolerant of the leaders I voted for who refuse to seal the borders, especially in light of 9/11. Duh.
  • It's hard to be tolerant of brilliant scientists who insist that the universe and all it contains was created out of one big bang. I know that this is simplistic, but who created the fuse?

DIVERSITY:

  • Do I support "diversity"? No, I do not; not when diversity means that I'm asked to accept the abnormal as normal and the unnatural as natural. Example? Gay marriage and special gay rights. It ain't normal, period.
  • I do not support diversity when to do so means that I should support, with my hard earned tax dollars, unlimited welfare for people who refuse to work. It's the economy, stupid!
  • I do not support diversity when some women give birth to one child after another in order to get bigger government checks that my tax dollars pay for. Don't reelect any politician who says that we need to support this.
  • I do not support diversity when a diverse America means we should absorb countless illegal aliens to the detriment of the security and welfare of my country. No way.
  • I do not support diversity when short-sighted and politically correct politicians say that we should not use racial profiling to help us catch terrorists in our own country. How about using it to catch terrorists in their neighborhoods? Now it's okay, huh?
  • And I gotta admit that I'm not big on diversity when diversity means allowing more and more Muslim extremists into our country either. Call me bigoted, but 9/11 had an impact on me.
  • I'm not a diverse individual when it comes to language either. See, I believe that a basic working knowledge of ENGLISH should be mandatory for all legal immigrants before we make them citizens. How cruel that we should make them learn our language — the language standard for our country.
  • I'm not keen on the diversity that automated telephone systems try to attain by giving instructions in English AND Spanish, or of product instructions that are written in both languages. This does not encourage immigrants to learn our language. Let them learn English. It's not that difficult.
  • I do not endorse the diversity of lazy people who sleep during the day and act like animals at all hours of the night. Be diverse, but be civil. Did they eliminate the "Civics" class in high school? Oops, my mistake, you have to stay in high school first. Sorry. No, it's sad. A mind truly is a terrible thing to waste.
  • I do not support diversity when affirmative action claims that your college degree is better than mine when my grades were higher. Is this the "new math"?
  • Expanding diversity? Some very intelligent and well-meaning people argue for reparations to the descendants of black people who can prove that they descended from slaves. Okay, fine. What about reparations for descendants of Civil War solders who died or fought to free the slave? Whatever the outcome, don't require reparations from those of us whose ancestors were not here during the evil of slavery in America. Be fair.

SENSITIVITY:

  • I'm insensitive to the reelection of politicians who drastically cut funding for programs that help the mentally ill. May God have mercy on them as they strip the future away from those who can't grasp it themselves.
  • I'm completely insensitive to the reelection hopes of any politician who cuts funding to help the homeless. These politicians have a roof over their heads, and by most accounts, it's a good roof. Many of these homeless people are veterans. Who will help them?
  • I am not sensitive to the insanely foolish struggle to take God out of nearly every public aspect of American life. He was there at the start, remember? "We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights."
  • However, I am very sensitive to the fact that we are on the road to leaving future generations of Americans a nation more bereft of decency than we found it, if we don't act quickly and forcefully. We need to act legally, but we need to act now.
  • I am not sensitive to the millions of aliens crossing our borders illegally. And take those expensive water stations out of the desert where illegal aliens cross. Those bleeding heart Liberals insist that we need to put them there to be "humane." Humane is protecting decent law-abiding Americans and their economy. My grandpa came here legally — how about yours?
  • I am not sensitive to the plight of a first-degree murderer in prison who needs an expensive heart transplant at taxpayer expense. Don't ask me to pay for it. In fact, let him die just like he did his victim. It will save the high cost of an execution or life imprisonment. Ask Polly Klaas or Jessica Lunsford. My mistake — you can't. May God bless those two dear children and others like them who are at risk because some dumb politician refuses to pass effective legislation to keep violent sexual deviants in prison. Reelect only those who pass such legislation.
  • I wasn't very sensitive about the dilemma of a president who lied under oath on national T.V., saying "I did not have sexual relations with that woman." Good role model there. I am also not very sensitive today regarding the future of the Democratic Party who defended his abhorrent behavior and subsequent lies.
  • I am not at all sensitive to politicians who say that they support our troops yet vote against the weapons they need to fight. Any politician who does this betrays the nation.
  • I am not sensitive to the future of politicians who say that they support our troops yet vote against the benefits and pensions they'll need after they leave the military. These politicians lie, plain and simple. Don't vote for their reelection.
  • I'm not very sensitive to self-serving rap stars and corrupt record companies who crank out filth glorifying crime, drugs and the "Gangsta" lifestyle. It's nothing but thuggery and it wars against the minds and the future of our children. Don't buy their CDs.
  • I'm not very sensitive to insensitive people who drive around and blast their rap music louder than Mount Saint Helens. Some of these cars have more bass than God. The elderly should not have to endure this.
  • I'm totally insensitive to the free speech "rights" of pornographers, especially child pornographers, who have absolutely no concept of childhood innocence. Send them to prison for life where they can be Bubba's love slave. Film it and distribute that! Get the point?
  • I'm completely insensitive to pornographers who claim that it's "free speech." Hamilton and Madison would turn in their graves. Pornographers are indecent and morally bankrupt, plain and simple.
  • I'm insensitive to Internet pornographers who KNOW that many children will stumble unprotected, into their filth, corrupting many. Jesus said "If anyone causes one of these little ones who believe in Me to sin, it would be better for him to have a large millstone hung around his neck and drowned in the depths of the sea." Hey, I didn't write it.
  • I am however, sensitive to Constitutional rights as applied equally to everyone. I believe that all Americans — gays included — should have Constitutional rights applied to them equally. That was the initial goal of the civil rights struggle, and it was a good goal. Gay marriage is an exception. Liberals try to link gay marriage to civil rights, but that is misleading. The last time I checked, marriage was not a right. Supra-Constitutional 'rights' and protections above and beyond what the average American receives are simply not fair. It also establishes a separate "class." Not good.

HOMOPHOBIA: (What a silly word.)

  • Am I homophobic? Yes, I'm terribly homophobic when militant gay activists demand that we legalize gay marriage, and in doing so dilute the hallowed institution of traditional marriage forever.
  • I'm homophobic of what legalized gay marriage will do to the country. I'm homophobic of what it'll do to young children just discovering their developing sexuality. It can be a confusing time. Who considers their plight in light of the supposed 'right' of gays to marry? I do. I believe that most Americans do too. Call your elected representatives... it's well worth the dime.
  • I'm homophobic of cowardly politicians and mayors who sponsor those despicable "gay pride" parades, because I'm concerned about what impressionable young children might see as some sickoes engage in semi-public sex acts in these parades, as has been the case a number of times. Let them have their parade on a dead-end street. Remember the lemmings!
  • The world looks to America for leadership and guidance and I'm homophobic of what the world will think of an America that glorifies homosexuality and 'gay pride.' I'm also concerned over what liberal laws they might make as a result. By the way, where are the hetero-pride parades?
  • Yes, I'm homophobic of any individual who gives God the finger, so to speak, by insisting that the Bible condones (or winks at) homosexuality. Let me make it clear — it does not. Go look it up.
  • I'm also homophobic of any individual who is stupid enough to believe that gays are born that way. God got it right the first time. I mean, for Pete's sake, males and females fit together pretty well. Don't call me bigoted — I wasn't the engineer!
  • I'm homophobic when I consider how arrogant and foolish some gay couples can be when they insist that they can effectively parent a child. Can two gay 'fathers' identify with a young girl struggling to cope with her first period? I'm homophobic that any person could possibly think so.
  • I'm homophobic of any gay who thinks that having hundreds of sexual partners is normal.
  • I'm homophobic of militant gay activists who actually try to persuade the public that AIDS was not initially and primarily a gay disease, communicated through unprotected and overtly promiscuous sex. Truth and consequences — you reap what you sow.
  • I'm definitely homophobic when I consider how legalized gay marriage will accelerate the feminization of men and the coarsening of women as traditionally defined concepts of sexual behavior and family roles disintegrate and blend. Make no mistake about it: over time society will change for the worse. Ask Sweden.
  • I'm a militant homophobe concerning the Church. If gay marriage is legalized, new hate speech laws will be drafted. It will be illegal to preach that homosexuality (and gay marriage) is contrary to God's Law, as the Bible clearly states. I didn't write it, God did. A simple conversation at the water cooler could turn you into a convicted felon. Yep, I'm a homophobe. You too, huh?
  • I'm also homophobic about gay marriage because television shows will increasingly include all manner of gay related themes beyond what is already being shown. It will be much worse and more graphic, and it will be shown in primetime. May God protect those impressionable young children.
  • I am decidedly homophobic when I consider that if gay marriage is legalized, we'll see all manner of television commercials portraying 'normal' gay families, namely two men or two women. I simply cannot imagine an Ivory soap commercial with two gay guys.
  • I'm also homophobic about gay marriage because textbooks in elementary schools will be required to teach this unnatural 'marriage' arrangement as being normal and legal. Those poor unprotected children. God forgive us.
  • I'm homophobic of the effect that legalized gay marriage will have on our laws. We're a nation of precedence. What's next, will Ruth marry Lassie?
  • By the way, are gay activists "Christo-phobic"?
  • Finally, I am homophobic of any person who thinks that violence is the way to oppose homosexuality or gay marriage. It is not. Call, write or email your elected officials. Hold peaceable demonstrations. Do it all legally, but do it and then do it again.

POLITICAL CORRECTNESS:

  • Obviously I'm not "politically correct" either. Not when being politically correct means not being true to myself, my convictions, my country and the great principles that this nation was built upon.
  • I'm not politically correct when to do so means I can't tell the truth.
  • I'm not politically correct when to do so means I shouldn't speak my mind lest I "offend" someone. What happened to "Sticks and stones may break my bones, but names will never hurt me"? We've created a nation of victims.
  • I'm definitely not politically correct when I'm asked to accept that there is a real "separation of church and state" in the United States Constitution. Find it for me.
  • I'm obviously not politically correct because I've written this article.

The Liberalization and secularization of America continues. Enough is enough, don't you agree? I used to think that I didn't have to get involved. I thought that there were other, more qualified and committed individuals to fight the fight against secular humanism and moral relativism. But many — too many — have remained passive while the Liberals mobilized for battle. If I don't get involved, I have no right to complain when the America the Beautiful that I have come to know and love is stripped away from me. It's being done bit by bit, subtly and without much media fanfare. Many modern Democrats have a lot to do with this. They are predominantly not the honorable and conscientious JFK Democrats of yesteryear. If you feel that America as you've come to know her is being dismantled and reconstructed according to principles that are not the values of mainstream America, you can fight back. Washington, Lincoln, FDR and Reagan: their values transformed America for the better. The gay activist plan for America goes against that of our founding fathers, and contrary to all those who followed in their footsteps. Too much is tolerated in the name of "civil rights" and "free speech." What can you do? Write, call or email your elected officials at the national, state and local levels. Do everything legally. But remember: only the squeaky wheel gets the grease.


I don't think I'm wrong on the issues I've detailed above. Yet in some ways I have been more understanding lately because I realize that I have made plenty of mistakes myself. I have also been wrong on some other issues. That notwithstanding, I've recently replaced some occurrences of "Democrat" with "Liberal" in a few of my articles because there are some good Democrats. I know a few of them. Some are well-meaning and some are misled. As usual, Reagan said it perfectly: "The trouble with our liberal friends is not that they are ignorant, but that they know so much that isn't so." Like Reagan, and for the same reasons, I hope these decent Democrats convert.


Finally, I understand that this article might be perceived by some as lacking in mercy and compassion. This article is merely a point by point synopsis of some of the things that I think we need to correct in this country before it's too late. I believe in Christ and in His forgiveness for any individual who wants it, no matter what the person's past. Christ forgives the person, but He does not wink at the person's bad behaviors. God does not wink at the secularism sweeping America either. Today, some of the behaviors and relationships practiced and advocated for by a minority threaten to adversely change America for decades to come. America is still a great force for good in the world, but as our moral fabric erodes and as we continue to endorse and legalize things like abortion, homosexuality and gay marriage, God's blessing on our land will diminish. We must be willing to forgive the individual, yes, but I hope that the people leading the Liberal and gay agendas today will see their error, change their ways and convert to Christ. That said however, it does not absolve us of our responsibility to get involved and speak out. Remember, you and I are We the People.
