I was a supporter of the local democratic party in Thornton Township, Illinois, for four years. I still believe that some of the local township officials are good officials and do a good job for the community. However, after meeting Barack Obama a few times and looking up the voting records of Obama, John Kerry, and some other Democrats, my conscience troubled me. No longer could I support even the local the democrats, in part because the local and state democrats strongly and passionately supported Obama and Kerry. There are democrats who are well meaning people, but well meaning people can be entirely wrong. Many people in Germany supported the election and early policies of Adolf Hitler — but they were wrong. Their support — and other countries lack of timely intervention — finally destroyed Germany and cost over 55 million lives. You may say "That was different." It is no different, and it is exactly the same in it's process. Bit by bit America is being remade by the Liberal Left, and few seem to take notice. I am not saying or implying that democrats are Nazis, or are even like them — certainly they're not — buy I am making the point that well-meaning people can be entirely wrong and mislead, with serious consequences for the nation. This is the situation we are in at this time.

Democrats are generally pro-abortion. This is not in dispute. In order to get votes they publicly say that they are against abortion, but that is a lie. Obama and Kerry both voted for abortion bills, with Obama failing to vote against live and partial birth abortion bills in Illinois (SB's 1661, 1662, 1663 & HB 382]. John Kerry supports live and partial birth abortion and says he thinks that Catholic hospitals should be required to perform abortions. As if abortion in our own county wasn't enough, both candidates support the "United Nations Population Fund" (UNFPA) which supports forced abortions in China." Worse yet, Barack Obama voted AGAINST the 'Born Alive Infant Protection Act!' This is unconscionable at best! To vote to deny lifesaving support to babies who somehow survive abortions is appalling. I am not God, but I cannot see how ANY person who calls himself a Christian, or who says he stands for traditional values, could dare to call on decent heartland Americans for support in these matters. Since liberals support abortion, and abortion is murder, then liberals are murderers by default. I cannot support murder. If I support these awful policies, then I would be a murderer — by complicity, if for no other reason. If I don't speak out against them, then my silence guarantees their continuation.

Democrats like to say that they are for traditional values, for the downtrodden, but that is a lie. They promote the acceptance of homosexuality as normal. Their policies emphasize the depraved rather than the good. They portray indecency as decency and abnormal as normal. Example: in Illinois, Barack Obama CO-SPONSORED a bill to make Sexual Orientation a protected class, like race [Illinois: SB 0101]. He also said "I will oppose any proposal to amend the Constitution to ban gays and lesbians from marrying" (Windy City Times, 4/02/04). John Kerry said that he opposes the Defense of Marriage Act. How could any decent American possibly be against that? This is all geared towards the normalization of homosexuality and the secularization of America. It is coarsening America. Dr. Alan Keyes says that to legislate "the most unnatural form of human behavior as marriage," will lead to the "complete breakdown of America," where anything is accepted, no matter how vile. Homosexuality is NOT a normal part of family life — in fact it wars violently against it. If I support the liberal democratic agenda, then I am participating in the disintegration of the family structure. If you support them, you war against America and your very own family.

Kerry and Obama both wanted removal of religion from the public square. Most liberal activists also want this, and they are striving vigorously for it. Yet they promote the introduction of Islam in schools, while taking Christianity out! Homosexuality is normalized to our grade-schools while traditional marriage is marginalized. This is all done under the well-sounding mask of "tolerance" and "diversity." Sure. They support measures that would classify 'anti-gay' speech, including Biblical texts, as "hate speech" against gays. It would therefore be a crime to speak against that lifestyle, as it already is in Pennsylvania, and as it is soon to be in Illinois if liberals have their way. In the quest for political correctness, liberal democrats have outlawed much of religion from the public arena. Never mind the fact that the founding fathers openly included their beliefs in the Constitution and Declaration of Independence. The Democrat's views clearly support a serious abridgement of our free speech rights. Alan Keyes says that by outlawing God in America, we "cut off our right as a country to call on God for help." Keyes says that "Our foundation will be taken out from under us, and a house without a foundation will collapse. Our country could be plunged into moral chaos, [because] we have been ignoring the seriousness of these issues for far too long." On the other side of the chasm, liberals approve of the actions of the few liberal activist — and unelected — judges who have been unconstitutionally legislating against Christian and traditional American values for many years. I for one, will not be a party to limiting free speech and the secularization of America.

Leading liberal activists including the ACLU, cite the "separation of church and state," in order that they may take the Christian God out of the classrooms, courts, and from all aspects of public expression. However, when is the last time you heard of the ACLU protesting the display of Islamic or gay symbols? This 'separation' is a myth! This dogma is NOT in the Constitution. The statement about a wall of "separation between church and state" was made in a letter on January 1, 1802, by Thomas Jefferson to the Danbury Baptist Association of Connecticut. Jefferson made it clear in his letter to the Danbury Congregation that the separation was only there so that government would not establish a national religion or dictate how men should worship God — not to outlaw it's presence in public expression or in governmental function. If you or I support most of the modern democratic policies, then we support limitations on our religious and free speech liberties. This is an extremely dangerous position to be in. Support the democrats? Then you are a party to our own destruction.

Modern day liberals are Internationalists. They agree that under most circumstances, U.S. troops should be deployed under UN control. How in God's name can you subject the lives of your own sons and daughters to foreign control, where anti-America sentiment frequently runs high? It's beyond me to fathom. Additionally, both candidates vigorously oppose any amendment to protect the American flag. How can they denigrate the symbol under which so many of America's brave sons died? If we support either of these two candidates, we are failing to safeguard American lives and would be complicit in their deaths. I cannot do that — I do not want that on my conscience. Do you? If not, support the conservative cause, led by such honorable men as President Bush and Dr. Alan Keyes.

The democrats simply have mindless educational policies. Unfortunately, many well-meaning teachers are subject to these regulations. For example, both liberals support the whole-language method of instruction in grammar schools, which for decades has left millions of minority children illiterate, no matter how much wasted money they continue to throw at the problem. They discourage the teaching of phonics, which all good private schools use exclusively. Phonics gets results; whole-language does not. Worse, under the guise of political correctness and non-discrimination, they advance the evil practice of social promotion, where millions of minority children are passed from grade to grade without learning the basic skills they need to obtain and keep a decent job in America today. They thereby deny millions of minority children a bright future. They rob them of their heritage. This has a direct impact on crime, as many of these uneducated kids become adults and are unable to feed their families. It directly promotes drug abuse and alcoholism when millions realize all too late that their future is bleak, with little hope for advance, little hope for a job with a living wage, and with little hope for them to provide a better future for their children. In the end, the democrats undermine the very people they claim they support. The bridge is out — everyone knows it. They then have the unmitigated gall to ask for the support of the very same people that their policies and programs condemn! I will not be a party to this, and if you support these groundless liberal policies, then you participate in their deception and are an accomplice in their crime. Millions of illiterate, uneducated and poor Americans would have the right to ask: "Why did you vote for these evil men? Why did you deny me the skills needed for me to prosper?" Why did you deny me the tools to attain to the rights of all Americans to pursue life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness?

"When bad men combine, the good must associate; else they will fall one by one, an unpitied sacrifice in a contemptible struggle." That quote is from Edmund Burke in "Thoughts on the Cause of Present Discontents." It has come to be known as 'The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.' Nevertheless, it's inescapable principle remains the same. The choice is clear: get involved and be one of these "good men."

Supporting liberal democrats or their self-centered policies is to participate in the destruction of America and your very own community. You put your own future, and the future of your kids and succeeding generations, in severe peril. Modern Democrats would have you believe that they are for the common man — again, that is a lie. They put America's future at risk. They put you in jeopardy. Your own values will be severely compromised if you support liberals, or if you fail to support conservatives who are fighting hard to reclaim America.

To support the liberal policies of modern Democrats is to support a culture of murder, not life.

To support the liberal policies of modern Democrats is to support immorality, not morality.

To support the liberal policies of modern Democrats is to support indecency, not decency.

To support the liberal policies of modern Democrats is to support insecurity, not security.

To support the liberal policies of modern Democrats is to support limitation, not liberty.

Don't be a party to the dismantlement of America.

In the end, my conscience dictated how I should act. The choice is clear to me, and it should be clear to you: get involved and support the polices of the conservative cause — reclaim America.
